Quad-Core HTC Edge Revealed (Maybe)
If the reports are true, HTC whitethorn already be functioning on its first–and perhaps the humankind's first–quad-core smartphone. Mobile news site PocketNow claims to have exclusive images of what information technology's vocation the "HTC Edge," besides every bit a tentative specification list.
Get a load:
According to PocketNow's anonymous but "trustworthy" source, the Edge will supposedly look a lot comparable its predecessors. As you can figure from the photos, there doesn't appear to be anything terribly revolutionary about the design. The rumored ring features a 4.7-inch 720p display, an 8MP camera, and animal Android sense of touch buttons–scorn the fact that Android's coming "Ice Cream Sandwich" Osmium will reportedly provid phones that have no physical buttons.
The Edge's gumption are what we're really concerned in. The big news, naturally, is the rumored Edge's fancy Nvidia AP30 Tegra 3 CPU, which has four–thence "quad"–1.5GHz cores. If this turns out to be true, the HTCEdge will be i of the first mobile phones in the globe to rollick a quadriceps femoris-core, instead of a dual-core, mobile processor.
PocketNow also reports that we'll likely run into 1GB ofRAM, 32GB of internal memory, and perhaps a peek atHTC's new Sense 4.0 interface, as well as newHTCcontent services. These new and/or improved services will admit a new euphony computer memory, gaming hub, and bookstore. PocketNow also suggests that the Edge may features Bluetooth 4.0 and Beats Sound enhancements.
On that point's no word yet on which version of Android this new superphone wish run, but I hope it's Ice Skim off Sandwich. The Edge is expectable to ship early next year–Q2 at the a la mode.
